My name is J. Marcus Poon and I am honored to serve as the 15th Polemarch of the Queens (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated!
It fills me with immense gratitude and excitement to extend a heartfelt welcome to each of you. I invite you to explore the pages of our new website to discover who we are, what we are about, why we do what we do, and discover how you can get involved and support our cause.
The Queens (NY) Alumni Chapter is driven to inspire service in a public interest. Every day, we strive to demonstrate an exemplary degree of brotherhood, energy, awareness, and dedication to not only the Fraternity, but to the wonderful borough of Queens, specifically to the magnificent residents of Southeastern Queens.
Whether you are a member, a potential sponsor or just interested in learning more about what motivates this dynamic chapter & organization to achieve, we hope that you will find a new home here with us. Our goal is for this website to help familiarize you with our promise to serve and uplift the Queens Community. As Queens Alumni celebrates 35 years of achievement in 2025, I am so excited to continue the work with our community, it’s diverse and amazing families and youth, and the spectacular leaders who represent them. CHAPTER HISTORY
The Queens (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, was founded on March 10, 1990 at the Roy Wilkins Center in SE Queens, NY.
The goal of the charter members was to present a newly progressive and diverse perspective of organizational principles and objectives in New York City, particularly in the borough of Queens. Inspired by a passion to transform lives and empower the community through Training for Leadership paired with academic and social outreach, over the past 34 years, the chapter has actively served the borough, specifically SE Queens through various programs and support aimed at "Inspiring Service in the Public's interest".
